Confirmation
After you finish your registration, you will receive an automated email stating that we have received your registration. If you don’t receive any message, please check your spam folder!
The automated email is not a confirmation. Please, be patient. We will send you an additional confirmation email with payment information once your spot at the camp is confirmed. Remember to check your spam folder every now and then!
If you have any questions or problems with registering, receiving the automated email or the confirmation email, or making the payment, please contact us at swingia2024info(at)swingteam.fi
Signing up with a partner
If you register with a partner, we can confirm your registration for sure. Both partners must register separately, and they need to register for the same level.
Remember to fill in your partner’s first and last names. We recommend that those registering with a partner submit their registration on the same day.
Waiting list
Single registrations may end up in the waiting list (first come, first served) if the role balance is too uneven. We accept registrations from the waiting list as new registrations of the opposite role are received. This is to ensure role balance at the camp.
Payment
We accept payment via bank transfer and employee benefits. You will receive payment details and your personal reference number in the confirmation email. Remember to use your personal reference number when you make the payment, no matter which payment method you use. Also remember to wait for your registration confirmation before making payment.
We accept payment via bank transfer and employee benefits (Smartum, Eazybreak, ePassi and Edenred; we accept physical vouchers as well as card, mobile and online payments). For more information on different payment methods, please contact us at rahastonhoitaja@swingteam.fi
If you pay with physical employee benefit vouchers, please attach your personal reference number and full name in writing on a separate paper.
Payment must be made within a week from the receipt of payment details.
Please notice that we cannot guarantee you a spot at the camp if you haven’t paid the participation fee by the due date.
Cancellation
Registration is binding. Full refunds are possible, if you cancel your registration two weeks prior to the camp. If you cancel your registration after this date, refunds won’t be admitted.
If you present a medical certificate of your inability to participate at the camp, you will get a partial refund of 75% also if you cancel your registration less than two weeks prior to the camp.
If you have already paid but cannot attend the camp, you can sell your pass to another person dancing in the same role and on the same level as you. Please let us know who you are transferring your pass to.
If you have questions about these terms, please get in touch with us at swingia2024info(at)swingteam.fi
Audition
At the start of the event, there will be an audition for those who would like to be considered for the advanced level. This is to make sure that you will be able to benefit from the classes and that the level of challenge is appropriate for everyone.
The teachers will request those partaking in the audition to dance to a few songs, while they pick those who, in their opinion, would benefit the most of such level.
If your dance partner, significant other or friend ends up in a different level than yourself and you wish to be in the same group we will do our best for you to end up in the same group. The principle is that the person in the higher level moves down.
We kindly ask our participants to respect the teachers' knowledge and opinion.
Photos and videos
During classes, you are not allowed to use any recording equipment without the authorisation of the teachers.
During other activities, you can use your own equipment to take photos and videos, but please be conscious of others.
When registering for the camp, you allow the organisers to use photos and videos to promote future camps and other events.
Häirintäohjesääntö / Code of Conduct
Tanssiseura Swing Team ry requires good behaviour from all dancers and other people taking part in its activities, and does not accept inappropriate treatment of any kind. Proper behaviour is a basic requirement for everyone to feel comfortable dancing, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, appearance, religion or skill level.
Inappropriate treatment refers to verbal or physical harassment or harassment in social media. This can include, for example, repeatedly passing a certain leader or follower when changing partners in class, talking behind other people’s back, violating another person's physical integrity (inappropriate touching, insinuations, etc.), unwanted behaviour related to gender, gender identity or gender expression, either verbally or nonverbally, and all kinds of discrimination. Swing Team has zero tolerance for behaviour described above, and no-one needs to tolerate behaviour or activity that makes them feel uncomfortable.
If inappropriate behaviour is repeated or serious, Swing Team can take measures by decision of the board. A person who behaves inappropriately can be removed from classes or an event, and may be given a temporary ban from Swing Team’s events or weekly classes or, in extreme cases, even expelled from Swing Team, either temporarily or permanently. In such cases, Swing Team is not obliged to compensate the person for any fees already paid. Teachers also have the right to remove a person behaving inappropriately from their lessons if necessary.
If you experience inappropriate behaviour towards yourself, tell the person acting inappropriately that you find their behaviour disturbing and ask them to stop. However, if the behaviour continues or you feel uncomfortable bringing up the matter yourself, tell the teacher or the event organizer. You can also report the incident anonymously via the feedback form on Swing Team’s website. In this case, however, please note that it is difficult to clarify the situation if both parties are not known. Every dancer or other person taking part in Swing Team’s activities is obliged to report if they notice inappropriate behaviour, even if it is not directed at them personally. Please report what happened, regardless of the status of the misbehaving person. If someone feels uncomfortable around you or tells you that something you do makes them feel uncomfortable, take the matter seriously and consider how you could change your behaviour. Sometimes we say or do things without realizing that hurt or insult other people.
However, Swing Team cannot be held responsible for things that happen outside of its events or weekly classes.
Examples of good practices: Consider the way you ask the other person to dance. It is generally acceptable to say, for example: "Would you like to dance?", instead of just grabbing someone onto the dance floor. No-one has an obligation to dance with someone they don’t feel comfortable dancing with for one reason or another. It is ok to decline an invitation to dance, and there is no need to state a reason. However, it is polite to say, for example, that you don't like the song or that you want to take a break. If someone declines your invitation to dance, respect their decision. If they decline repeatedly, consider what you could do differently.
The purpose of dancing is to have fun and make everybody feel good!
