Payments are done by bank transfer to Swing Team’s ry account, within two weeks of receiving your confirmation. Please use your reference number and add your first and last name as a message.

Please send us a receipt of your payment.

Keep in mind! Swing Team ry will not hold your place if you do not make a payment in due time.

Confirmation

An automated email will be sent after you finish your registration. Afterwards, you will be sent an additional mail letting you know if you have entered the camp or are in the waiting list.

If you don’t receive any message within one day, please check your spam folder and get in touch with us at lakesidelindy(at)swingteam.fi

Signing up with a partner

Enter the first and last name of your partner upon registration. Please use a middle name if you think it is necessary. Sign up with your partner preferably on the same day.

Waiting list

You can end up in the waiting list (first come, first served) if the ratio of your role is too uneven. In this case, payment only needs to be done within two weeks of leaving the waiting list.

Cancellation

Full reimbursements are possible before 01.06.2017. After this date, refunds won’t be admitted.

We suggest that you contact your local insurance company to check if you can buy a cancellation insurance. That is to be fully protected if you for any reason have to cancel your participation.

You can sell your pass to another person dancing in the same role. Please let us know who you are transferring it to.

If you have questions about these terms, please get in touch with us at lakesidelindy(at)swingteam.fi

Audition

At the start of the event, there will be a free and optional audition for those who would like to be considered for the advanced level.

The teachers will request those partaking in the audition to dance to a few songs, while they pick those who, in their opinion, would benefit the most of such level.

If your partner, significant other or friend ends up in a different level than yourself and you wish to be in the same group we will do our best for you to end up in the same group. The principle is that the person in the higher level moves down.

We kindly ask our participants to respect the teachers knowledge and opinion.

Photos and videos

During classes, you are not allowed to use any recording equipment without the authorisation of the teachers.

During other activities, you can use your own equipment to take photos and videos, but please be conscious of others.

When signing up, you allow the organisers to use photos and videos to promote Lakeside Lindy. If you wish to have a photo of you removed, please send us an email to lakesidelindy(at)swingteam.fi

Venue & Contacts

Everything under the same roof: classes and parties!

The workshop venue is the Varala Sports Institute at Varalankatu 36, 33240 Tampere

The venue is easily reached by public transportation or a car. The venue is only 3 km away from the train station so should the weather permit, it's highly recommended to walk or bicycle through the beautiful Pyynikki area and forest. There are some parking spots near the venue, but please remember the place might be buzzing during the weekends as the Flowpark is also on the premises. Bus number 25 will get you closest to the venue from the train station.

Code of conduct

No form of harassment at our events will be tolerated, including, but not limited to, verbal abuse, intimidation, inappropriate physical contact or sexual harassment.

Participants asked to stop inappropriate behaviour are expected to comply immediately. If a participant is acting in an inappropriate manner repeatedly, the event organizers may remove the participant from the event with no refund.

If you are experiencing harassment or see that someone else is being harassed, please contact a staff member or teacher immediately. Staff members are here to help if you have any concerns.

We expect all participants to follow these rules at the dances and at the workshop venue.

***

At Lakeside Lindy we want to make sure everyone can feel welcome and have a safe environment to dance and socialize. Therefore, all attendees, instructors, staff, and volunteers at Lakeside Lindy are required to comply with the following code of conduct. Organizers will enforce this code throughout the event.

We are dedicated to keep this event enjoyable and safe for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, race, religious views, physical appearance, or skill level. Any emotional, physical or sexual harassment in any situation including classes, dances, other social situations or online media will not be tolerated. Participants violating these rules may be expelled from the event without a refund at the discretion of the event organizers.

We all share a responsibility in conducting ourselves in an acceptable manner and to speak out if we see anything suspicious.

At Lakeside Lindy we promise to treat everyone with respect and we expect you to do the same. Please consider the impact your behaviour, whether deliberate or unintentional, can have on others. Be aware of the comfort and feelings of your fellow dancers. Be respectful of your partner's skill level.

If someone is making you uncomfortable or if you see someone acting in an unacceptable manner, no matter what their status might be, talk to someone about it. The organizers and teachers are here to help and know how to act on it appropriately. Listen seriously if someone tells you something and act appropriately, but be discreet. Don't hesitate to intervene if you see someone being harassed.

If someone is clearly uncomfortable around you or if they tell you something you’re doing is making them uncomfortable, please take them seriously and consider what you can do to make them feel more at ease. Sometimes we might say or do hurtful or unacceptable things without realizing it, and everyone deserves a chance to reflect and correct their behavior. However if we keep getting comments on frequent misconduct, we will not hesitate to remove you from our event.

Consider your choice of words when asking someone or being asked to dance. Generally it is a good idea to ask “Would you like to dance?” rather than just silently grab someone.

Be generous with your dances, but don’t feel obliged to dance especially if the person asking makes you uncomfortable. It's ok to say “no”. You don’t have to give a reason why you don’t want to dance, but it would be polite to do so if you’re simply feeling tired or just don’t like the song. Remember, the intent is for both dance partners to have fun.

If someone says “no” to you, respect their decision. If you’re being refused repeatedly, consider what you could do to make your partners feel more comfortable.
